Using Candy to Teach Multiplication to Third Graders

Remember “Candy Buttons”?p2030009

When I was little we used to buy them at the little store around the corner and use them as medicine when we played hospital.

Now you can use them to help your child learn multiplication.  These candy strips are good examples of arrays.

Simply cut them into the size or multiplication fact that you wish to teach.

This shows 3×6=18

p2030012

This shows 6×4=24.

p2030013

This shows 2×6=12.

Then when you are all done, your child gets a treat!
