When I was little, I heard of Disneyland and what a wonderful place it was. Of course living in Illinois, going to Disneyland was never even close to being a possibility. Today is the birthday of Disneyland. It opened on July 17, 1955. How old is Disneyland? Ask your child to do the math.
Is going to Disneyland not a possibility for you? You and your child can visit it online. See some of the sights or hear some of the music.
If you want, you and your child can plan a pretend trip. There are lots of links to click on. Have your child:
- figure out how many miles it is from your house to Disneyland.
- decide which attractions in Disneyland he would like to visit and make a list on paper.
- calculate the price of admission for your family.
- find the dining places which you would go to.
- look at the map and see where each attraction is located.
- order the free DVD.
There are so many learning possibilities with just planning the trip even if you never set foot out of your house and it could be lots of fun.
