Teaching Your Child About Ben Franklin

by Mrs. Thorp on July 16, 2008

As a parent or teacher, teaching your child about Ben Franklin,  Founding Father of our country, inventor and author,  is a fun activity to do with your child. There are many resources on the internet to use.

My son has a Ben Franklin doll that came with a jigsaw puzzle. After learning about Franklin, have your child use the doll to act out some of the things he did. Be creative! The puzzle is a good way to work together with your child to accomplish a task.

There are many children’s books about Ben Franklin. One of my favorites is Ben Franklin and the Magic Squares.

Let me know if you try any of these or if you have any other ideas.
